Hi!

Its already time for a brand new sketch at My Sketch World!  I can't believe how quickly a month can pass - this last one has truly been a blur - in the best kind of ways so its all good.

Lately I've been seeing a shift on the way I make my cards - I don't know how to explain it and while artsy comes to mind - that doesn't entirely fit because they don't all turn out that way.  I guess maybe more technique centered - hmmm getting there since this month's card started out with this piece of paper I created:

I used my Cuttlebug and the 6x6 Clouds Crafter's Workshop stencil to create this look over some Amy Tangerine Sketchbook grid paper - went to town blending with my Pan Pastels - the cool thing with Pan Pastels is you don't need a ton of colors to start with because they are so easily blended!!
Now in the above photo (thanks to Instagram) the colors are very deep and dark I saved this one for a later project because I can't bring myself to cover it up, LOL.  So I created another piece like it with lighter colors for my card.

The bright colors pop off kraft terrifically - used my embossed piece of paper tho' its hard to tell - in real life it looks good ; ) - layered paper, vellum (love this for a softening effect and have heaps of it to use),  & punchinella - created a bursting sun on top with paper & washi tape, felt & punchinella, with a button on top - the letters are Jillibean - they were sitting on my table from using up extra paint on them (I often grab letters or chipboard when I have extra paint and use it up this way the pieces are set to go later and I don't waste my paint.) - butterfly and bling to finish off along with some doodles
I can't wait to send this off to someone!!!  What fun things/techniques have you tried out lately?

Here's the sketch I used - hope to see your takes on it soon!!

I rotated the sketch and instead of placing the paper under the strips I placed mine over - then I let my creative juices take over.
Have super days friends!!!  Only a couple more days until an uber big announcement here!!

Skissedilla #163 - Miaow!Miaow! - {ScrapFX}

Hey All, happy Monday to you!!  Did you have a good Mother's Day? It was a full and fun weekend around here.  Between prom for my boy and softball for my girl we were busy, busy!

I've also been busy creating a new page for sketch #163 at Skissedilla!

The sketch for this week called for a whimsical LO - in my opinion ; ) - so I grabbed these cutie photos of one of our cats and set to work!  Its not often I scrap the furry ones around here - especially if said furry one is alone - how could I resist this lil' begger though, LOL
I did some stenciling and outlined it with a white pen, scibbled some Caran D'Ache NeoColors II on the page and sprayed to get some watercolor effect going on, as well as some dripping - check out that ScrapFX birdie!!  So cute with the googly eye and paper leaf wing!  The arrow paperclip was a super fab find from Hobby Lobby on clearance!!  Can we say BONUS!  I layered some fussy cut elements to add to the whimsy and underneath it all is a wad of twine - what kitty doesn't like to play with twine, right?  Mine sure do - menaces, LOL!
I used ScrapFX Itty Bitty Bets - Groovy alphas along with some old American Crafts ones - the little ball of yarn was made with a snibble contained in my Gauche Alchemy Neon kit - this is such a fun store and I LOVE the neon kit - thinking maybe another is in order since contents vary!! - the tape is from K&Co - the words Want It worked really well here since kitty was beggin' for a treat!
Drips were added with some mist and a heat gun to make them run - more tape - the numbers bit of tape is from Gauche Alchemy - and some fussy cut clouds. I added some color to one of the clouds with a Sakura glaze pen - these are seriously worth the investment!
I love these mini chipboard wordlets from ScrapFX!  MiaowMiaow is from the Cat Theme Pack and I decided to leave it bare and only add doodles - the tab is from the Gauche Neon kit and I added a few bits of paper, doodles, a stamp, and pearl to dress it up a bit.
Thanks so much for stopping by.  I'm secretly working on something so please forgive me if I haven't gotten around to visit you - I'll have a little more time toward the end of the week to get back at my blog surfing.  In the meantime - lets have a little fun - what do you think it is I'm up to???
Hint: It is a HUGE and FUN and EXCITING announcement!!

Be sure you hop on over to Skissedilla to check out the sketch and play along!

ScrapFX WINNER!!!!

Hey Sweet Peeps!  I have to extend again my gratitude for all the new friends stopping by during the blog hop!!  I'm still working my way through to come visit everyone back - so cool to meet new scrappy peeps, dont'cha think??

This LO was up on the ScrapFX blog and I must say its a fav of mine for sure!  Its been a long time since I did a real boy, boy page - the ScrapFx wordlet inspired me to no end - all I could think about was the movie Men in Black and how I could portray that on a page.  Once I found this photo it was a done deal.  To see a tutorial on how I altered the wordlet up on this page go here.

I was so hoping to play along somewhere this past International Scrappy Weekend, but alas I didn't get to.  I've got my 1st May assignment just about completed though for ScrapFX - I can't wait to show you!!!

On to my winner:

Lucky #62 was Dana Tatar!!!  Dana please send me your address information so I can send out your goodies!!

Don't be dismayed if you didn't win this time friends - I will continue to spread the chipboard love so be on the lookout!

Skissedilla #162 - Washi Love

Greetings!  Its Sunday and that means a new sketch is up at Skissedilla!

Before I get to that I want to extend my heartfelt gratitude to all the many wonderful people visiting here over the past few days - thank you all so much for brightening my day, leaving such lovely comments, and deciding to follow along!  I'll be stopping by you soon!

Even though the ScrapFX blog hop is over I couldn't help but to showcase some of my fav ScrapFX chippies on this page! Afterall it is still National Scrap Weekend here! ;0)
I adore tape and have since I was kid - all stationary and office supplies in fact have me smitten - so the trend of washi tape is right up my alley.  I've showcased various of my fav patterns on this page including many of the new designs I recently received in my order from Gauche Alchemy!

Clouds Flourish A (2010145) negative piece coated with molding paste and black paint - patterned paper covered with washi tape for punched butterflies and circles - tiny hearts from Heartfelt Alphabet 2007019
Heartfelt Alphabet (2007019) letters along with Itty Bitty Bets - Typewriter (2005103) for the bulk of my title - used one of the Clouds Flourish A pieces for a stencil and created a washi tape cloud - covered a heart from the Patchwork Heart Set (2012039) with tape and punchinella - really love how this looks and will surely try it out on more pieces!!
One more heart and cloud shot for good measure! :D Oh!  You can see the texture paste hearts on the background here too!
Have you jumped on the tape bandwagon?  Always been there?  What are some of your favorite things to do with it?

Take care and have super days!!

More {ScrapFX} - Blog Hop Update

Hey Everyone!  Happy (Inter)National Scrapbooking Day!!
**For the official ScrapFX Blog Hop post go here to be entered for the drawing - be sure to read the update in this post before you do.**

The ScrapFX blog hop is still in full swing until Midnight Australia time on the 6th (just so you know its already the 6th there). Make sure you watch the time so you don't miss the end (it is already May 6th there)!

Lots of fabulous chippies used on this page - Kinder wordlet, Flutterby Owl as a paperclip, Cloud Negative backed with pattered paper, Tree painted and then dressed up with some painted hearts, and a couple of tags as well!

This project was the first I created as a DT member for ScrapFX - I shared a few little sneak shots here but never the full page.  These are some of my past students - they spent a lot of time with me both in and out of school hours - in a lot of ways they became like my own and ironically they were all the same age as my daughter.  I still keep up with them and their families when I can.  With the theme of the hop being love - this page says it all for me - I loved teaching and I loved these kiddos!

Remember to go to this post to be entered for the ScrapFX grand prize.  If you're inspired I'd love for you to follow me on Networked Blogs (sidebar) or Google Friend (sidebar) so you can be entered in my drawing too!!

Take care and happy hopping!!

{ScrapFX} DT Blog Hop!!!

Hi there!  I'm Scarlett for those of you happening upon my blog today for the first time - you're in luck - if you're a regular visitor (thank you) tonight you're in for a real treat!

The Design Team at ScrapFX is thrilled to be hosting our first blog hop event!  I still need a good pinch in the arm every now and then to know being a part of this team is real - really blessed to be part of such a wonderful company and team of gals.

Best Friend Moments
The Lace Tag Set - White (2012040 W) served as the base for this mini album - don't you love all the varied edges??
The theme of the hop in honor of Mother's Day and (inter)National Scrapbooking Day is love and what better way to showcase love then through friends!

Magical Moments Worldet (2012056) - I snipped apart the wordlet and was able to use one piece on two different projects.
A bit of Film Strip (2012052) cut to create a frame along with a cutie bird from Bird Family Mini (2010032), butterfly (2008157), hearts (2007019) for tulips, and the word Play from the Cat Theme Pack (2007278)
Another butterfly, a snipped portion of the Streetscape - Trees (2009268), some clouds made from parts of the Forest Tree (2012079), and my FAV alphas eva' the Itty Bitty Bets - Groovy (2005104) - I also picked up some of the typewriter font and love them just as much - these are seriously the best, most versatile alpha I've used!
I went to town and added some neon yellow embossing powder to the Splats (2007017) and snipped the hearts from the Engaged Wordlet (22012064)
I knew I wanted to use the So Happy Together wordlet (2012060) ( before I started the album and was glad it worked its way to a tag - I also used a bit of Chicken Wire (2011186) and a couple more butterflies for good measure! ; )

I used the Itty Bitty Bets Groovy letters again to put the acronym my daughter and her BFF use to say Love Ya' Like a Sister - a portion of the Twigs - Wood Grain (2012080) was used to hold it along with a bird from the Bird Family - a little snip of the legs and it was all ready to sit on the branch!
What'cha think???  A whole lot of beautiful chipboard, right??  Ready to keep hoppin'?

Here's the list:

Be sure you leave a comment on everyone's blog - including mine for your chance to be entered in the Grand Prize drawing (prize can be seen here).  If you're inspired I'd love it for you to follow along on my blog as well - there are a couple of options in the sidebar.  For those who choose to follow along (or already do) I'll be doing my own little giveaway of this each time you leave a comment (I'll be adding more projects as the hop progresses so be sure to check back and increase your chances!!):

This is all stuff you can't even readily get in the US!!!  Of course I'll probably be inclined to add a bit more, but at least this is a taste of what you'll get!!
Happy Hoppin' and thanks for stopping by!!!  Be sure to check back for more projects as the hop progresses!

See - Tonight's the Night!!

Hi!!!  Its looking to be a grand Wednesday in my neck of the woods even though its rainy and I got soaked to the gills doing morning chores outside (it was kinda fun though too!!).  It will be grand day/night for you too - I shall tell you why tonight's the night at the end of the post ; )

Gauche Alchemy punchinella (finally) & a bit of grid washi from there as well- Golden molding paste - Perfect Pearls mist
I've been really inspired by some small purchases lately, along with my lovely chipboard goodies (so smitten!!) from ScrapFX, and been a creating fool which has given me the extra motivation to seek out fun challenges to play along with!!

Bits of punchinella and netting tucked behind photo - washi banner on twine - modling paste - mist - and of course a few clouds for good measure!! ;0)

Playing along with the Look/See challenge at Bird is the Word with this page and used the April sketch from My Sketch World as a launching pad.

Ack!!  I 'SEE' my accordian flower came unglued - arrggh! Focus on the fabulous chipboard, k? LOL The Birds on Wire piece and letters (Itty Bitty Bets - Typewriter font) are both ScrapFX - I'd been wanting to use the bird one since I received my 1st package - this was the perfect page for it!!  Quick paint job and it was page ready.
I promised to share why tonight's the night so here's the nitty gritty:  the ScrapFX Design Team is hosting our first blog hop!!!

Check out what you could win!!!

A prize pack valued at over $100 of items you cannot readily get in the US yet!!!!
Not only will that beauty of a prize be up for grabs - myself as well as some of my team members will have goodies to give away too!  It is going to be majorly inspiring because this team is off the chain with talent!!!  Be sure to check back here tonight at 5 Central Standard Time for the festivities to begin!!
