Alcohol Ink Gift Tag Step x Step for You!

Happy Tuesday! Today was my day to post a step x step over on the A Walk Down Memory Lane DT blog. I decided since Christmas is fast approaching it would be fun to do a different kind of gift tag. Here is what I came up with:

This tag was created using alcohol inks and an embossing folder. If you'd like to see the full details of how to create one of your own, head on over to the DT blog or the forum where full step x step pictures and instructions are posted.

Hope you have a delightful day! It is bitter cold here, so I know I'll be staying inside getting my scrap on!

Blessings ~ Scarlett

All in an Hour and a Half!

This past Saturday night, My Sketch World had a mega 90 minute crop. There was a LO sketch posted for the first hour and then 3 card sketches came for the half hour. Talk about a rush! I hadn't planned on participating at all, but about 15-20 minutes into it, I popped on board and was like why not give 'er a try! My gosh I had stuff flying everywhere LOL!!!

Here is what I managed to come up with:

Hangin' With My Ghouls

I love these Halloween paper from The Girls' Paperie. The colors are traditional yet all the patterns are really versatile.....well except maybe the bat one! They worked out perfectly for this cute lil' snapshot of my DD at her school's Family Fun Night in October.

Couple Close Ups

You should have seen those chipboard letters flying here, there, and everywhere when I was looking for the letters I needed! Oh my! I cut out some bats from the scrap I had left after cutting the circle, outlined them, and popped them up.

Do you see those little black embellies?? Not the great big one, that's a button, but the small ones. I made those!! I used some molds and black UTEE to create pearl like things and then some cute little stars. I am totally hooked on using UTEE and have been playing a lot.

Here are the cards I made, I was only able to get 2/3 done, but I was really pleased that I accomplished that! The twist to the challenge with these sketches was to not only get them done in 30 minutes but to also use your scraps from the LO.

October 31st

Happy Haunting

I so didn't need to have any Halloween cards on hand, LOL, but I guess I'll be extra prepared when next year rolls around, huh?!

If you are lovin' these papers as much as I do they can be found at A Walk Down Memory Lane and are called Toil and Trouble.

Well, that's it for today. Thanks so much, as always, for stopping by to visit me. I do so appreciate it!

Some Cards with Inkadinkado

Hi there! Happy Wednesday, going on Thursday quickly! Inkadinkado is the featured stamp manufacturer this month at A Walk Down Memory Lane; I had a blast using some really adorable quote from kids stamps on some cards. I couldn't help but smile each time I stamped one. Kids just say the cutest things and the idea of turning their thoughts into stamps?? Brilliant!

Here are the cards I created for my DT reveal:

Happy Birthday

Isn't that just the cutest saying?? My DD loved this one! I used Echo Park Summertime patterned papers which are available in the AWDML store.

You Make Me Smile

This saying sure does make me smile all over my face!! How could you not?! Again I used Echo Park patterned papers and a journal tag from October Afternoon Fly a Kite collection.

Count Your Rainbows

So true. I used some Sassafras Lass patterned papers on this card along with clouds from Echo Park, which I embossed and hen inked a bit.

Be sure to head on over to A Walk Down Memory Lane so you can take advantage of 25% Inkadinkado stamps, as well as Karen Foster scrappy products!

Thanks so much for stopping by! Hope your evening is lovely!!

Pure Joy!!!

This is what I feel these days!! I am blessed with a wonderful family and friends. I get to create to my heart's content....well most of the time LOL! Life is just good, no matter what comes my way.

The layout I am going to share today not only is titled Pure Joy, but also has a bit of what else is bringing me joy on it.....mixed media!! This is one of my first LOs experimenting with different mediums on it and while I still have a lot to learn, I love how this page came out.

Pure Joy

My dog, Fonz just makes me smile whenever I am with him. He is just a big ol' love muffin and would be in my lap at all times if I let him. This LO was published in the June issue of Scrapbook News and Review Magazine and I love that I was able to incorporate some of what I had learned up to that point from the forum onto this LO. Another cool thing is I used mostly scraps on this page....bonus!

Close Ups

Here you can see the texture I created by using some molding paste with Pearl Ex mixed in and spreading it through some mesh. This was so easy to do, peeled right up leaving a great pattern behind, and then I also had the residue left on the mesh to use for a different project.

Thanks for coming to visit today! Hope your day has been wonderful!!

Gettin' Sassy with a New Sketch

My Sketch World has the November sketches up. With the hustle and bustle of the holidays fast approaching there will only be one sketch this month along with all the great challenges posted by the DT. Be sure you pop on over there to check them out!!

Here is the card sketch:

Isn't it wonderful? Lucy always does such a rockin' job with her sketches.

And here's my take:

So Thankful

So I got sassy with this one by one using some of the new Mix and Mend by Sassafras! This line is full of fussy cutting possibilities and I am lovin' it! I also tried something new with my stamp and used 2 colors of ink to create my sentiment. We had been talking about this on the forum at Scrapbook News and Review Magazine and I had to try it out. It took me a couple tries to get it all lined up the way I wanted but now I think I have the hang of it.

Thanks for visiting me today! I'll be back tomorrow with some more to share.

A Walk Down Memory Lane.....

Has new featured manufacturers for the month of November!! Karen Foster and Inkadinkado stamps will be featured this month by the design team and you can receive 25% off their fabulous products in the store.

For my Karen Foster goodies, I chose to work with the football scrapbook kit. My DS is a Freshmen this year and went out for football for the first time. This kit is perfect for me to scrap all those memories and to thank his coaches for being so wonderful.

Here are my projects:

#84

I love how the neutral colors really help the colors of photo I had of DS actually looking right at me on the field (probably not pleasing to his coaches, but made this mama happy LOL!) pop.
Heres a close up of the journaling:

Well, I guess that's not really all that helpful, huh? The gist of it says how this was his first year playing and up until now I wouldn't let him play because I didn't want him getting banged around at a young age. It also talks about how I was kind of sad when he chose football over soccer after playing soccer for years, but how very proud I was of him for taking on a new sport and doing so well while working hard at it.
The largest circle is embossed with a Sissix Tim Holtz folder to give it some texture like a football.

Thanks card for a coach:

I again used the Sissix Tim Holtz embossing folder to give the background paper the feel of a football.

Thanks so much for stopping by today. Remember to head on over to A Walk Down Memory Lane to take advantage of 25% off Karen Foster and Inkadinkado.

Until next time, May God Bless you and yours!
