Something New I Tried

So I told you all I would share what made for DH for our anniversary, he really liked it and so did I to be honest. It was a fun lil' project to make and my plan is to make lots more. Thanks so much to Betty Anne and Tracy for the well wishes on our day!

Here's the altered frame I made for him:

DH has his favorite dog around here and here she is with him. He calls her the best hoond and I have been wanting to create something documenting that. I think the frame was all of $2 and most of the materials I used were scraps or things I have had in my stash for a long time.... love that! My mission lately has been to use up what I have.

I used Maya Road chipboard...my favorite...and jazzed them up. The letters were glittered glazed, meaning I mixed my glitter with some Diamond Glaze and then painted it on. This is oh so helpful in getting the glitter to stick and giving it a nice sheen along with the sparkle. The heart was just glittered to leave it more sparkly. On the tree I used some Ranger Crackle paint to give the appearance of bark and then inked over it.

This butterfly was made the same ways as the letters and then I just clustered some other favorite things there. I am totally falling in love with twill ribbon and am so excited I have been able to find it in a variety of widths and colors for cheap!

I'm going to save sharing the card I made for him since it features A Walk Down Memory Lane's featured manufacturer for September and well, it's not September yet...LOL! Here's a sneaky peek for you tho'!

Can you guess what manufacturer is up for the spotlight?? I'll be back tomorrow to share with you all who it is.

Have super days everyone, God bless!

It's my Anniversary!!

Happy Sunday Everyone!! Today is DH and I's Anniversary! I feel so blessed to be spending my life with my best friend and the man who completes me. We have been through a lot so far in our marriage, because of my health and all the change having lupus brought about, but we are making it and growing closer everyday because of it!

Here's a picture of me and my man

Aren't we cute?? I love my Mostacholi!! (he's Italian and that's one of my lil' nicknames for him!)

So with it being my anniversary and all, I thought it would be appropriate to share the card I made for the K challenge at My Sketch World.

K is for Kiss

Although I am sure I will give this to DH at some point.... this was not the card I made him for our anniversary. He was out of town this weekend and got home this evening, so I was able to give him his gifts and I'll take pictures of that stuff tomorrow to share with you all!

I mixed some Prima and K&Co. goodness for this, with a Little Yellow Bicycle journal tag thrown in for good measure.

Thanks so much for stopping by to see me. Be sure to let me know you were here so I can come and visit you too!
Be blessed and have a happy scrappy night!
Scarlett ( I really need to learn how to get a siggy....can anyone help a sistah out??)

Still Plugging Along

Well, the last challenge has been posted for the My Sketch World ABC crop, don't fret you could still get in on all the action since you have until midnight September 6th (PST) to get at least 15 challenges to be considered for the Grand Prizes. I know I'll need it! LOL!! I do have 16 challenges done, so that's WAY cool and I have stuck to my true OCD nature and gone in order (insert some rolling eyes here please..laugh)

Onto my projects....

I is for inky - Create a card using inks, easy enough, right?

Welcome Baby

The colors are a bit off on this due to the time I took the picture, but you get the idea. I used some Tim Holtz mask letters to create the ABC background and sprayed with a few colors of glimmer mist, then decked it out in some Sassfras Lass goodness.

J is for Jiminy Cricket - Create a LO using some bugs or other lil' critters

Dragonfly

Can you tell I have been in a getting messy mood lately?! I am loving adding paints, inks, using masks, etc. on my projects. I got the idea to crochet around paper from the LollyChops blog. I really love all the different types of projects she does. Thanks to her, I was pushed to teach myself how to crochet. Thanks Lolly!!

Couple Close Ups

I again used some Tattered Angels Glimmer Mists along with some Shimmerz Spritz. I created my own dragonfly mask using some Tim Holtz masking sheets.... love these for real!!! If you would like some of your own you could purchase them from A Walk Down Memory Lane.

This has certainly been a year of dragonflies around here. They are by the 1000s each night! It is amazing and soo beautiful! This little guy got caught in my DHs windshield wiper and was injured because of it. So we had a great time holding him and checking out his amazing lil' body.

Thanks for stopping by tonight. I hope you have had a blessed day!

Some Creations to Share

Well, my hope of keeping up daily with the ABC crop at My Sketch World has been blown out of the water LOL!!! With DSs football practices and DDs soccer and softball practices, I am an under paid taxi driver at the moment!! I do love they are soo active and will be happier when games start. Even though that means more running, I love watching my kiddos play their sports! It's ok to be a bit behind in the crop though since there is still LOTS of time to scrap and that will be my plan for this weekend! We are up to 60+ NEW members playing along with the oldies, but goodies! WOW! And another WOW goes to the new DT teams Lucy just announced the other day! YAHOO, I still get to be a card diva! Love Lucy's sketches and I am sure you will too, so make sure you check them out! Ok, enough gabbin' on to the projects.

Here is what I created for G and H:

G is for Girly (use girly green color on a card) - Happy 'Bird' Day

I have been working REALLY hard to use up my ginormous stash of patterned papers and other items lately. These papers are from an older K&Co. line and so is the glittery flower and bird.

H is for Hot (use colors red, yellow, and orange on a LO) - Corny Cousins

I used my stash again and was able to use almost all the last little bits of my Lime Rickey stuff from Basic Grey. What I have left now will go to some cheery cards or DD!

Thanks so much for visiting me! Hope your evening is wonderful!

Fun with Unity Stamps

Happy Monday Friends! I am sitting here having my morning beverage and can I just tell you it's actually cold here this morning! It's only 56 degrees..... much welcome relief from the heat and humidity the past weeks, but geesh talk about drastic!

Well, it's the time of the month for me to share some more creations I did for A Walk Down Memory Lane. The stamp manufacturer of the month is Unity Stamp Co. and let me tell you I was thrilled to be working with their delightful stamps!! I love how clean and crisp the images you get from their stamps are and the all the fun designs makes it really hard to choose. Lucky for you the Unity Stamp Co. stamps are 25% off right with an additional 15% off that!!!! Talk about a great deal. Make sure you head on over to the store to take advantage of this.

On to the projects. I made quite a few things so I will share a few today and save the rest for another day of bloggin'.

What's Moo

I must say this is my favorite creation. I just love cows, so this stamp from the Cosmo Cricket Garden Variety Unity Stamp set made me oh so happy!

The word 'moo' is also from the set.

Hi

I just really love this little cow stamp! I had to add a bit of bling to this one!

And one more for today:

Handmade Just For You tag

I think this is just perfect for putting on all those jars of strawberry jam. I sprayed the doiley with some Simmerz Spritz, just wish you could see from the photo just how sparkly it is!

Thanks for stopping by today and remember to head on over to A Walk Down Memory Lane's store so you can take advantage of all the great sales going on right now and pre-order some CHA goodies!!! Also, for those of you on Facebook head on over to the A Walk Down Memory Lane spot and add us to your likes! There are lots of great bits and pieces there for you to find!

Thanks so much for stopping by today! Be blessed!!

F is for 4 Photos

Eeek! {Gasp!}..... Use more than 1 or 2 photos??! Yup, that is the challenge for letter F and let me tell you, it certainly was a challenge for me because I really do not do more than 2 photos on a page and even that's a stretch. Thankfully this week's sketch at Let's Scrap had more than 2 photos so I was able to do double duty by getting my DT LO done for there and completing this My Sketch World ABC crop challenge!

Here's the fabulous sketch Cheri whipped up for us to use this week:

I chose to use the left side of the sketch and came up with something a bit funky!! I am totally trying to use up my stash these days since there are oodles of new things I want coming out! So I dug into my American Crafts Backyard collection along with some Echo Park and this is the result:

This Lil' Birdie

This lil' birdie DD and I are holding found itself stuck in the side of a dog crate we had outside drying from being cleaned. The poor little things head was stuck and couldn't get out. So DD came running inside to get me to rescue it. He was soo cute and I think pretty grateful we got him out!

Some Close Ups:

Love all the wonderful stickers that came with the Echo Park Sweet Summertime collection! I also really love those birdcages and am not really sure why I haven't busted them out before this. I see lots of cute projects in the future for them.

Of course I had to a bit of Sass into this funky mix! I love that Nerdy Bird. The glitter alphas are made by them as well.... can't wait to get my hands on the new colors!

And here is the cutie lil' birdie all framed up with a K&Co frame that was part of a border. He was just so sweet, but his mama wasn't!!!! They started calling to one another and so I walked to get closer to the mama bird's call. Next thing I knew I had one angry mama bird all up in my face!! She was NOT pleased I had her baby!!! I promptly put him down to save my eyes from being pecked out and the rest is history. They are all living happily in our oak tree and the lil' birdie can now fly!!

Thanks for stopping by today! Until next time, Happy Scrappin'!

E is for Event

The challenge for the ABC crop at My Sketch World was to create a card for an event. This was a super fun challenge because my honorary SIL just had an adorable little baby girl. Certainly an event worth making a card for. I can't wait to send it out tomorrow! I was hoping for today, but that just wasn't in the plans. Anyhoo, here's what I created:

Welcome to the World

I used some October Afternoon Fly A Kite papers for this card and a Jillibean Soup journaling sprout. The little dress is from American Crafts. I have had the roses in my stash for years and am finally putting them to use!

Close Ups

I'll be back tomorrow to share with you what I created for F. I had to wait since I used it for a DT reveal as well!

Have a great day!

More Bo Bunny to Share

Hey Everybody! Happy Monday to you all!
It was a hot one here today and that reminded I had some fun projects yet to share using the wonderful Sun Kissed line by Bo Bunny, the featured manufacturer this month at A Walk Down Memory Lane. This is such a delightful line for all those hot days of summer photos.

Chillin' Out

This paper was perfect for these shots of DD when she was in preschool right down to the sprinkler, which I cut out.

Some Close Ups

I really like to use clouds for journaling, I think it is great way to get some thoughts onto a page. For the sun rays I used some Pearl Ex to add a bit of simmer and to enhance the color already there.

I wish this picture of my bling-o-liscious sprinkler would have turned out better. It's my favorite part of the LO!

Here are a couple cards I made using the scraps from this LO.

Hi

You're Tweet

Remember you can receive 25% off Bo Bunny, along with Unity Stamps this month..... and as an added bonus, Lisa is providing 15% off the entire store to make room for all the CHA goodies she ordered!! WooHoo!! Can't wait! So be sure to head on over to the A Walk Down Memory Lane store and check out all the deals!

Thanks so much for stopping by today and God Bless!

D is for Dots!

I just love polka dots! For whatever reason they make me happy and I really enjoy creating with them. So the D challenge was only a challenge in trying to narrow down what polka dot papers I was going to use LOL!

On The Daily

This is DD and our old lady Tika. Tika will be 10 in just a couple days. She absolutely has to wait by DDs side every morning before school. They are always so cute waiting for the bus together. The Max and Whiskers line by Basic Grey was perfect for this page!

Some Close Ups:

Remember there is still lots of time to come and join us at My Sketch World for the ABC crop. If you are looking to get A LOT of projects done in a month, then this is where it's at! You have the entire month to work on all the challenges.

C is for Clouds!

I just adore using clouds, I think they are soo cute on projects and there are so many things you can do with them to make them look different and fresh when you use them. There are a ton of fabulous cloud cards floating around the My Sketch World gallery and thread for the C challenge and it is really cool to see how everyone is using them.

Get Well

I really love the bright colors of the Bo Bunny Sun Kissed line! They just make me happy so I thought they were perfect for a Get Well card! Remember Bo Bunny is this month's featured manufacturer at A Walk Down Memory Lane so be sure to head on over there to receive 25% off all the goodies. And as a bonus Lisa is running an extra 15% off to get ready for all the CHA goodies that will arrive!

Some Close Ups

I was really proud that I actually did the inside of this one as well. More and more I am getting into the habit of doing this and it just adds such a nice touch. DH just sent this card out yesterday to one of clients. She fell out of a tree, broke her leg and crushed her ankle. Needless to say we thought she could use some cheering up! Hope this does this trick.

Thanks for visiting me today! I love knowing I have guests and appreciate you taking time to come and share in my scrappy adventures! Have a super day and Happy Scrappin'! ~ Scarlett

B is for Border Punches!

Happy Wednesday Everyone! I am so excited to really be getting my scrap on again! The mojo has been flowing and it feels good to participate again at some of my favorite places to be like My Sketch World and Let's Scrap!

Hopefully I will be coming to you daily with each challenge I complete for the ABC crop currently going on at MSW. See yesterday's post for more details! Challenge D is already posted, but maybe

I can knock C and D out today to get current!
For the B challenge I used the fabulous sketch posted this week at Let's Scrap!

Here is the sketch:

My take using just the left side:

Ma & Pa

I used a lot of different manufacturers on this one: Studio Calico, October Afternoon, Basic Grey, K&Co., Martha Stewart, Cosmo Cricket, and punches from Fiskars and EK Success.

Some Close Ups:

I have been wanting to use this cow from Cosmo Cricket for soo long! I just {heart} cows! Really happy to have my Cosmo Cricket Unity stamp set from A Walk Down Memory Lane as well! That is where the stamped sentiments on the cardstock stickers came from.

This bee is from the Unity stamp set as well. I was really pleased with how my banner came out and plan on layering up banners more often, it really adds a lot of character, don't cha think?

These little chairs from Studio Calico kind of threw me for a loop, but I loved them and thought they were so stinkin' cute.

Thanks for stopping by today!

It's August Already?!!

It is really hard to believe just how fast the summer has flown by and here we are in August. Can't believe we will be gearing up for back-to-school before we know it! Although it seems sad that the 1st of August would mark this, there are some wonderful things August has brought about as well.

The 1st of the month means there is a new featured manufacturer this month at A Walk Down Memory Lane!! WooHoo, right?! This month you will delight in receiving 25% off Bo Bunny products in the store. I had a really great time working with Block Party, Peacock Lane , and Sun Kissed. I created up a storm so I will share a few things with you today.

Storytime

I must say this is my favorite!! I cannot believe how much fun it was to create with this line and I think the colors worked so wonderfully for this subject, not to mention they matched my DDs outfit! Gotta love that. I was a little leery of the purple, but I am thinking I need to use this color a lot more often, or at least keep using up the rest of what I have from this line.

Closeups

For the butterfly I used a chipboard piece and just traced it onto the patterned paper and cut two out. Then I layered them and added the circles to the top with a small circle punch. The top half circles were made by punching out a circle cutting it in half, fringe cutting along the edge, and then rolling.

I just love these roses and look for the opportunity to use them all the time. The leaf was made with cream colored burlap and then I dabbed it with some Ranger paint, available in the store, and I must say these are about the best little painter thingies I have ever used! You should totally give them a try!

Full Speed Ahead

I used lots of Bo Bunny bling and the double dot ribbon on this LO! I totally lucked out once again by having these fabulous papers match the swim trunks my DS is wearing! Just love the down home American feel to this line.

And last, but certainly not least, my reveal for My Sketch World's August 1st card sketch!! Yep, I did double duty this month by using up some delightful Sun Kissed scraps with Miss Lucy Chesna's rockin' sketch and came up with this:
Summer Lovin' ATC

I have scrapped this photo many time, many ways because I love it! DH and I definitely need to get a new shot this summer together before it slips away.

Well, that's it for now. I will be back with a couple cards for you to see in a few days. I have a lot of back blogging to do and I am really hoping I can get some of that done and share with you all what I have been up to.

Be sure to head on over to the DT blog so you can see all the yumminess created by the DT this month with Bo Bunny!
