June 15th Reveals

I always love the 15th of the month because that means I get to share some new scrappy creations with you all! My Sketch World comes out with new sketches on the 15th and A Walk Down Memory Lane has the reveals for the stamp featured manufacturer for the month!

Lucy always has such outstanding sketches for us to use at MSW, but this one I must say is a favorite for me.
Here is the sketch:

Isn't it fabulous!! I {heart} banners, so i was super excited to see one for this sketch. The LO sketch has one to and the LO divas surely rocked it!
My take: I Love You

I couldn't believe I actually had some little bottle cap letters in my stash for this card!! Too perfect! The papers I used are from October Afternoon and can be found on sale for 25% off at A Walk Down Memory Lane!

The other goodies you can find for 25% off at AWDML are stamps by CC Designs. They are fabulous to work. I chose the Amy R sentiments Thank You set to work with. Here are a couple of my creations:

For All You Do

I used Cosmo Cricket Early Bird papers from the mini deck and a label sticker from October Afternoon to stamp the sentiment on.

Fabulous Hostess

This sentiment worked out fabulously for these papers from Nikki Sivils.

Thanks for stopping by! Hope your day is wonderful!!

Sketchy Wednesday

Hi There! Hope you all are having Happy Wednesdays!

I love that I get to be a part of 2 great sketch communities. Sketches make it so easy and quick to create beautiful LOs and I feel I follow along with 2 of the best sketch artists around in Lucy, from My Sketch World and Cheri, from Let's Scrap! Right now both sites have fabulous sketches up to kick start your June mojo!

Here is the June 1st Sketch from My Sketch World:

My LO is titled Beach Baby

I used Graphic 45 Boardwalk papers for this LO! I am lovin' the colors and fun patterns of this line!

WooHoo! I finally used some bottlecaps on a LO! I have only done this once and look forward to using these gems again! I used my circle punches to punch a base background paper and the little soda cap images from the patterned paper for inside the bottle caps. The little saying is also cut from the papers.

Here you can see the bottle caps a bit better, as well as my dyed eyelet lace. I used my glimmer mist on it. I used a Jillibean Soup journaling sprout and distressed it with my Ranger inks to make it match the papers, instead of being shockingly white.

I wanted my tickets to look more realistic on the page so I had the idea to create these lifts in the line. I really like the way it turned out. Using sandpaper, I distressed my Thickers to have them match the overall feel of the LO.

Here is the sketch from Let's Scrap:

Cheri always provides 2 page sketches and I love that they work so well by themselves or together. My preference is to do one pagers so I chose the left side of the sketch..... I mean how could I resist that circle!! LOL! It's my favorite scrappy shape!

This LO is titled Love Makes.....

I really love this picture of DH and I. It is so rare that we actually get a picture together, so thank you to my DD who took this picture last year on the 4th of July. I used a lot of scraps I had of some of favorite lines from some of my fav manufacturers to create this LO.

I outlined the letters for GO with a Sharpie to make them pop out and I told you this accordian fold flower was quickly becoming my fav to use! I inked the chipboard bird, outlined it, and then embossed it with UTEE to get a nice sheen.

I used up lots of random bellies and stickers, just love that big ol' pink button.... yup it was a button, just took off the backing.

I again dyed some eyelet lace for this LO and created the chipboard heart myself out of some plain chipboard sheets I had, then glittered, and used hairspray to seal.
Thanks for stopping by and taking a look at my creations. It's always so fun to share.
Make sure you head on over to Let's Scrap and My Sketch World to complete these sketches. Both sites have great prizes connected with them this week!
Until next time, Happy Scrappin' ~ Scarlett

2. To head on over to the A Walk Down Memory Lane DT blog and check out my sketch challenge for the month of June. The beautiful Miss Lucy from My Sketch World gave me permission to use one of her fabulous sketches and this is the Lo I created with it:

Of course I had to use some October Afternoon for this.... I am totally obsessed with their papers these days and it is totally helpful the A Walk Down Memory Lane store has them for 25% off the entire month of June!

I made my flowers for this LO out of DDs favorite pair of jean capris she finally outgrew. I swear she lived in these things during all seasons, LOL!, so I had to save them and use them for a LO!

3. To hurry up and head on over to Let's Scrap, where they have a super sketch posted and you still have time to create a LO using it!! Just get it uploaded by midnight tonight for your chance at some delightful scrappy goodies from Memorable Seasons!
Here's my take:

I really like how this LO turned out. MY DS is 13 now so it's a bit harder to scrap pages for him. I want them to have a more mature look and I think this worked out perfectly.....again using some October Afternoon papers from a variety of collections.

These flowers are quickly becoming a fav of mine now that I actually have the hang of craeting them! I love adding stuff to the tops of them and they work great for boy pages since they aren't too girly looking! I drew lines onto my patterned paper to create the underside of my mushrooms and then I embossed them with some clear embossing powder, even though you can't really tell that in the picture.

I love how rolling down the edges of my green paper strip revealed the underside pattern. I think it adds a cool touch. I cut the circle strip out of paper from the Fly A Kite October Afternoon collection and then added the buttons. The letters are also from Fly A Kite and I just outlined them with a Sharpie to help them stand out a bit more.

4. To capture a rainbow!! I know lots of us have been experiencing much rain and it can get you down, but there is always a rainbow somewhere. I love that God has given us this great gift of beauty amongst the rain!

This is DH with our daughter and old gurl, Tika, in the background. He loves playing in the rain with the kids! Not sure where DS was at??!! LOL!

Thank you Lord!

Well that's it for now..... I think I gave you all enough food for thought!! LMBO! With blogger being down I got a bit behind on what I wanted to share.
Have delightful days my friends and thanks for stopping by!

More Scrappiness to Share!

The Dixie Pieces Precious Pastels Kit is just amazing! Check it out:

Isn't it delightful??! You should really head on over there and pick yourself up one before they are gone!
Here are a couple more projects I created with this month's kit:
Hi card

I just loved using these oversized eyelets!! It's been so long since I have used eyelets on anything, but these were fabulous!
Summer Days

I rarely use purple at all in any project, so I was a bit perplexed at first as to how I would use it all, but once I started creating, it cam to me easy peasy!!!..... and I loved it! This paper was so fun to use and I loved the overlay included in the kit! I was able to use it on 3 LOs!

Here's a close up of the flowers that come in the kit! They have a great weight to them and are embossed. Once again I used those big eyelets and added some of my own bling brads to them.

I was so thrilled when I saw the Maya Road letters and butterflies in the kit! I {heart} Maya Road chipboard pieces, so this was a special treat to have!! I altered the letters by embossing them with some American Crafts Zing embossing powder. I decked out the butterflies with some Pearl Ex, doodled around the edges, and then covered with Diamond Glaze.
Thanks for taking a peek at my creations and be sure to head on over to Dixie Pieces where there is a super fun challenge for the month of June going on!!! You could win a spot as the next GDT there!! I guarantee you won't be disappointed!

More fun with October Afternoon!

I have had so much fun working with October Afternoon products this month for A Walk Down Memory Lane and am still creating with my goodies! I have a couple more projects to share with you.

Dreams card

For this card I used the October Afternoon Fly A Kite collection and green Mini Market letters. The ribbon is from Cosmo Cricket Earth Love.

My Life, Right Now

When I saw this map paper included in the October Afternoon Thrift Shop collection, it just spoke to me and totally reminded me of I feel about my life at this moment. So I ran with the inspiration and created this LO about me and all the things going on right now.

I haven't used letter stickers for titles that were flat in a long time, but I am having so much fun with the October Afternoon letters that match collectins. Doodling on them and outlining them, you name it! I cut apart the sentences from a Thrift Shop paper to help with my journaling throughout the LO.

Remember you can take advantage of 25% off October Afternoon goodies this month in the A Walk Down Memory Lane store!! Happy Shopping!

June 1st Reveals!!

Happy June to you! I cannot believe how quickly it came!! It seems like May just flew right on by.

The first of the month means there is a new sketch up at My Sketch World. It is an absolutely wonderful one and I had a great time working with it.

Hello

I have been having lots of fun these days playing dress up!! I adore this new line, Fly A Kite from October Afternoon, and it was perfect for this card.

The chipboard girl is from Maya Road.

The beginning of the month also means there is a new featured manufacturer for the month at A Walk Down Memory Lane!! October Afternoon is being featured this month! WOOHOO! I love October Afternoon products and Lisa has a delightful selection of them waiting for you at the store and the best part is they are 25% off!!

Here are a couple projects I have created. I will share more later in the month.

On Our Way

This is DD and I on our way to the pumpkin farm when she was in preschool. I was her teacher at the time, so it was extra fun to be able to take this trip.
I have been wanting to scrap this photo for years and just could never find the right papers. Well, Farm Fresh from October Afternoon did the trick. I adore this line, not sure of any I don't LOL!!, and it worked so well for this picture.

I have been working reallt hard to incorporate more of the handmade flowers I know how to make onto my pages. I always seem to forget how many great ones there are. I also used some cardstock stickers from the Thrift Shop line and the Report Card line, as well as a portion of a journaling card from the Report Card line to add to this.

I am really pleased with how the letters came out. I knew I wanted to use these stickers that came with the Farm Fresh collection, but by themselves they just weren't cuttin' the mustard, KWIM? So I got out my handy dandy Sharpie maker and outlined each of them so they would stand out more. I love how they turned out and think it really added the just right touch.

Since I already showed you a card featuring October Afternoon, I am going to leave you with this for today. I will be back again tomorrow with some more creations to share. I have been a busy crafter lately. Make sure you get yourself over to A Walk Down Memory Lane so you don't miss out on the 25% off sale.

Have a blessed day and Happy Scrappin' ~ Scarlett
