I'm a Dixie Girl!!!

For the month of June!!! YAY! How exciting to be joining the gals over at Dixie Pieces for all the fun. I was so blessed to win all the lovely goodies from the NSD crop there and my bonus blessing was to be a Guest Designer. I was absolutely thrilled to have the chance to work with Sherry's amazing kits! This month's is filled with Basic Grey Kioshi, Little Yellow Bicycle Clothesline, and some Pink Paislee and Fancy Pants as well! YUM!
Here are a couple projects I created with the June kit:

Bliss in the Kiss

I didn't think I would enjoy using this color scheme so much, but I did! I loved the look of the sephia photo with it. The paper from Basic Grey made it so easy to create some fabulous cutwork.

Check out that bling-o-liscious butterfly!!

Bloom card

I made the flower out of ranger sticky back canvas, some mists, and some of the Little Yellow Bicycle papers included in the kit.

Thanks for taking a peek at these creations. I have a few more to share with and will be back later in the week to do so. Until then, head on over to Dixie Pieces, grab yourself a kit, and check out all the great stuff going on there in June! A fabulous new challenge for the moth will be posted and a GDT spot is up for grabs!

Product Review Project - A Walk Down Memory Lane

Hello All! Recently I did a Product Review for A Walk Down Memory Lane on Ranger Distress Crackle Paint. You can find the full review HERE. I am loving this stuff and currently have only tried it in Rock Candy, which is clear. I picked up a couple other colors and am waiting for the right project to come along for those. In teh meantime I thought I would share a card I made using one of my sample pieces.

Wish

I used Cosmo Cricket Earth Love papers, some Prima flowers, a ticket from Tim Holtz idea-ology, a Martha Stewart border punch, and some buttons from my stash. The majority of these items can be found in the A Walk Down Memory Lane store.
Here is a close up and I am hoping you will be able to see the fantastic crackle effect better in this one!

Isn't the vintage feel from this paint delightful!! I thought it was perfect for use on this image from Cosmo Cricket Earth Love.
Thanks for stopping by and be sure to head to the A Walk Down Memory Lane DT blog so you can check out the full review there.

Card Sketch for Wednesday

Happy Wednesday! It is a gorgeous day today and a perfect match for the card I have to share with you based off the new sketch up at Let's Scrap. Kimmy has brought us another super fabulous sketch to work with and I had a blast turning this one out! This week's sponsor is Carta & Ricordi and they are offering up some yummy goodies including a Fiskar's border punch!

My card is a note card this time around.

I just love October Afternoon and this new Fly a Kite collection is delightful to work with. I punched the circles out of the patterned paper and also cut out the kite pieces.

Thanks for looking and be sure to head on over to Let's Scrap so you can get crackin' on your own version of the sketch posted there for you!

More Cards Using Stampavie Stamps

Stampavie stamps are so wonderfully detailed and cute; they just make me smile! A Walk Down Memory Lane has a lovely collection of these super stamps and this month they are 25% off along with all Jenni Bowlin Studios products.

Here are a couple more cards I created using the Stampavie stamps:

Celebrate

For this card I used Basic Grey Nook & Pantry papers from the 6x6 paper pad available in the store. I really love this line of papers and am not sure why I waited so long to pick it up. I had been drawn to it, but was never quite sure what I would do with it. Now I am reaching for it all the time!

Happy Birthday

For this one, I used Cosmo Cricket The Boyfriend papers from the mini deck available in the store. I just love that companies offer you a big version of papers and a little one for cards. I also love the bonus patterns you get in the Cosmo mini decks!

Have wonderful evenings!

Make Old Buttons New!

Hi Everyone! Tonight I want to share with you all one of my new favorite things to do..... making old buttons new by dressing them up!

I have shared this idea on a couple sites now, so I thought it was about time I got it here! Now, I know you all have a TON of buttons in your stash and with all the new goodies out there they may not be your go to item anymore. Here are some ideas that may change that!

Using Alcohol Inks:

Sorry for the terrible picture, I tried repeatedly with this one and couldn't get it any better. I used alcohol inks on this button to highlight the beautiful image on it. Being just plain white didn't cut it for me, so I used a teensie paintbrush and added the color as I wanted to make the image pop.

Using Patterned Paper:

I have a TON of clear buttons and had no idea what in the world to do with them until I started adding patterned paper. This is such an easy peasy way to get your own look that matches whatever project you are working on. For these, I punched a circle a bit larger than my button, applied some glue to the outside edges of my button, and placed down on top of the paper where I wanted it to go. I use a weighted stapler to sit on them for just a couple seconds to make sure they are set before I trim off the excess paper from around the edge. The BINGO button was made using recycled packaging from Jenni Bowlin's mini BINGO cards. I just love how you can use the mini-mini cards that come on the packaging.

Stamping on Buttons:

Using StazOn you can easily stamp your own images onto clear or colored buttons. Just another nice was you can get your own look to suit your crafting needs.

These are just a few ways you can dress up your buttons; hope this sparks your creative juices to use that stash of buttons you have!

Pluggin' Away

Happy Sunday friends in blogland! It is a gorgeous day and even though I have barely had any sleep I am feeling quite energized and ready to go! We'll see how long it lasts! LOL!

I am pluggin' away at all the challenges over at My Sketch World! Have you been there to check out the lengthy list of inspiration for the Spring Fling crop that runs through the end of the month? Oh my!! It is rockin' for shiggity!

I just had to do the challenge posted by Wendi. It's a May Day challenge and you had to use 7 different ribbons and 7 different flowers. It was a lot harder than I thought it would be!! But, I did it and I LOVE the LO I created so wanted to be sure to share it with you all!

Little Girls Are Heaven's Flowers

I just had soo much fun creating this LO, I mean how can you not have fun when you are working with Sassafras?? I {heart} Sass! These papers are from the Cherry Delicious line.

Here's a couple close ups:

The ruler ribbon, yellow and grey rick rack are from the Little Yellow Bicycle Clothesline collection and the mini BINGO card is from Jenni Bowlin. Both of these can be found in the A Walk Down Memory Lane store. And don't forget Jenni bowlin stuff is 25% off!! The Sass paper collection kits are there too now!! YAY!

I just love these little felt flowers. They were amongst some of the many flower tutorials posted on the Oopsey Daisy blog! Be sure you hop on over there to check them out. fabulous stuff I tell ya'!
Thanks for stopping by today and may you have a blessed day!

It's a Reveal Day!!

Happy Saturday to you! We finally have a sunny day here and I am super excited about that! I am also excited today because I get to share with some projects I have been working on for My Sketch World and A Walk Down Memory Lane.

Lucy, the owner of My Sketch World, posts amazing sketches, for both LOs and cards on the 1st and 15th of every month. So, with today being the 15th I have a lovely new card to share with you.

I totally wish I could sew so I have been really relishing in all the new tailored and sewing theme products that are available now. The stamp I used is from The Girls' Paperie and so is the patterned paper. I attached the eyelet skirt using the Tim Holtz Idea-ology tiny attacher... I am in love with this tool and it is available in the A Walk Down Memory Lane store!

The pleat shown here and the flower were both made using the yummy fabric paper from American Crafts from the Dear Lizzy line.

I have been sharing projects from AWDML using Jenni Bowlin so far this month and now it's time for me to share a project from the other featured manufacturer this month, Stampavie. The stamps they offer are full of wonderful detail and I enjoyed working with them.

Hi

Isn't that a cutie stamp?? You can get one for yourself for 25% off in the store. I used Basic Grey Nook and Pantry for my papers and those are also available there.

Thanks for stopping by; hope you all have lovely days!

Sketchy Wednesday!!

Greetings! Happy Wednesday to you!

Wednesdays always mean there is a new sketch up at Let's Scrap and I am delighted to say this week's sketch was inspired by a LO I created for the Feb. issue of Scrapbook News and Review Magazine. How cool is that??! My work in sketch form...WOW! I am honored Cheri would ask for some of my work to create sketches off of!

Here is the sketch:

And here is the LO inspiration for it:

Not Getting Up

I just LOVE Dr. Seuss and this was such a fun call to create for Scrapbook News and Review Magazine!! I used Sassfras Lass papers and letters, along with some Basic Grey letters, K&Co letters, and EK Success letters.

The Dr. Suess images came from a note pad my daughter gave me for my birthday. She knows I love Dr. Seuss and thought it would make for good scrappy supplies. She's so in tune with her mama!! LOL! She was elated when I began cutting out the images for this LO. All the wording on this LO are inspired by the Dr. Seuss book I Am Not Going To Get Up Today! Worked perfectly for this sleeping picture of my son when he was just a little guy.... now a days he is looking me right in the eye and will soon be past my height! Gosh how time flies!!

Thanks for stopping by today and please head on over to Let's Scrap. I would love to see YOUR take on this week's sketch!! As always there is a fantabulous sponsor for this week and lots still going on in celebration of NSD!
Be blessed and Happy Scrappin ~ Scarlett

Jenni Bowlin Products 25% Off!!!

Happy Tuesday Friends!

I just wanted to remind you Jenni Bowlin Studios products are 25% this month at A Walk Down Memory Lane. Lisa has a delightful selection there so you should head on over before the goods are gone! Here are a couple more projects I made featuring Jenni Bowlin products from the store.

Make a Wish

For this project I used some Jenni Bowlin banner stickers (just love those), mini BINGO cards, reverse tiny alphas, and the notebook paper is from one of her mini books. The diecut paper I used as my background is also from Jenni Bowlin. All of these items are available in the store for 25% off.

Here's a close up:

It worked out perfectly that my daughter's birth date numbers were right next to each other on teh BINGO card. I used some of the circle letter stickers from the banner sticker set to create the caterpillar with her name. The patterned papers are from the Cosmo Cricket Earth Love line and so are the chipboard flowers. These are also available in the store.

Make sure you head on over to A Walk Down Memory Lane to check out these goodies, as well as the Stampavie stamps which also 25% off right now.... plus there is a TON of new product waiting for you to browse!

Have beautiful days my friends! May your day be filled with love and blessings!

Cards on Monday

Happy Monday Friends! Hope you all had beautiful Mother's Days. My kids blessed me by opening up their piggy banks and giving me a day of shopping at an LSS I go to on occasion. I thought this was just the sweetest thing in the world since they did this all on their own because my husband was out of town. I had lots of fun shopping with them and then we grabbed a bite to eat, some ice cream, and a couple movies.

I thought I'd share a couple cards I have made recently. It was hard to go through and figure out what to share because I have been a creating lunatic these days! So many fun things going on right now in the online scrappy world! Thanks to all who have stopped by, left lovin' and comments and are playing along with the Let's Scrap blog hop! I can't wait to see what all you create!

Welcome Baby

This card is one I made for my own challenge over at Dixie Pieces NSD crop they have going on right now. My challenge is to use a banner on a card or LO. I was then also able to use this card at the Citrus Tree Studio crop that just passed. I used some papers from The Girls Papiere, along with some Jillibean Soup, and some American Crafts embellishments.

Hi

I just love this line by October Afternoon and am still using up all my scraps I have left for cards. This card was created for Cheryl's Striped card Challenge at My Sketch World's Spring Fling Crop. You have the whole month to play along over there and the sponsors are wonderful!!! There is even a Guest DT spot up for grabs.

Thanks for stopping by!

A New LO Using My New Love for Mixed Media!!

Happy Saturday Friends! It is rootin' tootin' cold here today in Wisconsin, 31 degrees to be exact! So I am all bundled up, ready to blog, and get scrappy today!

Let's Scrap has so many fun things going on right now between the blog hop, posted above, and the challenges for NSD still going on, and there was a new sketch posted on Wednesday!! It is a fun one with lots of possibilities for layering and bellies. Right up my alley!

Gravel Pit Kids

I combined the sketch posted at Let's Scrap with a challenge issued by Kim from My Sketch World for the Spring Fling crop. If you haven't gotten yourself there yet, you need to do so. There are soo many fabulous challenges going on. And while you can't combine them there you can do just like I did and take one from each of these fabulous sites.

The challenge from Kim is a Make a Scene challenge. You can only use patterned paper, with the exception of your letters, and no other bellies allowed! It was hard not to reach for some of my fav stuff, but I love the way it all turned out!

This is a close up of my mixed media title work. I used some Claudine Hellmuth sticky back canvas and traced my letters onto it. Cut them out and added some Pumice gel medium. This stuff is super easy and fun to use!! Then I inked it up some once dry to help it stand out on the LO.

Thanks for stopping by! May you have a wonderfully blessed day!

The other featured manufacturer this month is CC Designs stamps and I'll be back later in the month featuring projects with their adorable stamps.

Here is a LO I created using Jenni Bowlin products for this month's DT reveal:

Champion Sized Love

I just really loved working with all her products to make this LO come together. Aren't those lil' banner stickers adorable? And how about the tickets? Those were cut from some fun patterned paper. I even recycled by using the packaging from one of her BINGO card sets and cutting out the mini one!

I have more projects to share with you featuring the Jenni Bowlin products and will post some more for you next week! Until then, get your tail feathers on over to the AWDML store and fill up your cart with the Jenni Bowlin savings waiting for you there..... and make sure you check out all the new products Lisa has for you there as well!!!!

Cosmo Cricket Sketch

Hi Everybody! I'll be back a little later today with my winner from the A Walk Down Memory Lane blog hop and some fab new creations I made from the featured manufacturer, but first I just had to share this LO I made for a sketch challenge on the Cosmo Cricket blog. Have you been there lately??! OMGosh Golly, if you haven't you should get there. They have announced and revealed another fabulous line of products called Delovely and it is LOVELY!!!! The colors are super and lots of fun patterns.

Here is my take on the sketch they have posted on the blog:

I love the Garden Variety line and am just about getting to the end of my stash with it. Thankfully I still had enough to do this LO with my DS holding one of chicks last summer. They're not so tiny anymore, but still super friendly!!

Here's a crazy close up...I've been playing with how I angle my camera these days! LOL!

Thanks for stopping by to take a peek. Hope you head on over to check out the new Cosmo yumminess!
