Be sure to head on over to MSW to check out all the fabulous creations! And while you are there you need to make sure you check out the Spring fling crop that is starting tomorrow!! I am having some technical difficuties right now with my blinkie, but will get it here soon to remind you of the fun going on ALL month at MSW!!

Here's is my take on the May 1st Skecth:

Thank You

I just love the Domestic Goddess line by Graphic 45. The colors are so beautiful and the patterns are fun!

And a couple close ups:

My favorite thing to do with this line is to cut out all the fun vintage inspired pieces.

The pearls added a nice, elegant touch and pop dots helped to give the peachy squares I cut some dimension.

Thanks for stopping by and be sure to check back tomorrow when I have my first blog hop challenge ever posted for A Walk Down Memory Lane!

Let's Scrap Wednesday

Hi Everyone!! It is a gorgeous day today and I just couldn't be happier or more thankful for that!

Well, it's Wednesday and that means there is a new sketch up at Let's Scrap today! This week Kimmy has created a delightful card sketch for you to use and Apron Strings is offering up some yummy goodies to one lucky participant!

I made a non traditional birthday card for DH whose birthday just passed on Monday. He has received soo many regular ones from me, I decided I needed to do something different!

I {heart} U

I just love the new American Crafts Dear Lizzy line and I also discovered this new line by The Girls' Paperie!! they went so well together... now if only my new Little Yellow Bicycle would get here I would be one happy as heck scrapper!!! LOL! These 3 lines are going to mesh B-U-tifully!!!

I added a little dimension to the stuff I fussy cut out and just couldn't resist using a bit of one of the Sassafras banners from the Cherry delicious line!! I just love those!

My favorite part of this card is DH and my names!! I spell my name with 2 Ts so I had to square it! LOL! I couldn't believe it worked out so well though and just had to have the birdies beak to beak!

Thanks for stopping by and may you have a blessed day!

Shaped card

Hi Everyone!! Hope you have had beautiful days! Today is my DHs birthday and we are just chillaxin' as we went out yesterday to dinner and a movie. I made him homemade meatballs and spaghetti for dinner and 2 pans of homemade brownies for today!! He is my chocoholic!!

Well, I just love shaped cards and am not sure why I don't create them more often!! I was really happy to have a shaped card challenge posted by Jan over at My Sketch World. You have to go check it out because there are some amazing cards posted for this challenge!!

I went with a cupcake shape since my niece's birthday is coming up.... she is quite the lil' crafter herself and loves to receive special things!

Cupcake card

I just really love how this turned out!!! I made my own stickle like mixture to cover my cardstock with Martha Stewart glitters after I embossed on it, it turned out great and I love that it looks like the cardstock actually came that way but it didn't!! To top the cherry off I used some Diamond Glaze. I love how quickly that stuff dries! A little doodling on the base and I was done.

Thanks for sharing this fun card with me today. Hope you are inspired to get making some of your own shaped cards soon!!

The Greeting Farm stamps

Have you ever seen the stamps made by The Greeting Farm?? They are absolutely adorable and available in the A Walk Down Memory Lane store. I had a blast creating some cards with them and a few cutie tags for gift bags.

Happy Birthday

For this one I used the Susie Surprise stamp along with some October Afternoon papers and stickers.

Hey Girl

This one features the Wild Sprouts Megan stamp along with some Prima papers and AdornIt letter stickers.

Sew Sweet

This is Wild Sprouts Megan again with some Cosmo Cricket Material Girl this time.

Cupcake Tags

I used some cupcakes from the Susie Surprise set for these along with Jillibean Soup Sprouts.

Here is a close up of the cupcake tops

Make sure you head on over to A Walk Down Memory Lane to take advantage of 25% off of these stamps, as well as We R Memory Keepers products and to see what the other fab DT members created!

New Creations!!

I love having fun sketches to play with all the time!! It makes my life as a scrapper so easy! especially when you are workin' with gals like Lucy Chesna owner of My Skecth World and Cheri O'Neil sketch artist at Let's Scrap!

First up a card. Lucy has posted the April 15th sketch and it is a yummy one!! You have to head on over to MSW to check it out!!! I'd love to see you there and the gals there ROCK!

Here is my take: Thank U

I will be giving this card to DDs teacher for Teacher Appreciation Week coming up here soon.

Close Up:

I used Sassafras Lass papers and the clock is from MM.

Now a LO: Where'd It Go?

I love these pictures of my DS. He was 3 and a half at the time and we were up north. He adored sending all his cars down this tube, watching them go through, and then running to the other end to grab them!! It kept him bust for quite a long time.... which is saying something for my lil' busy body!! LOL!

I mixed up a few different lines from Cosmo Cricket with the patterned papers, chipboard bellies, and letters.

These gears are from Maya Road and I love them... not sure when I don't love playing with her stuff!! I altered them by adding Pearl Ex... love the metallic look you can get on chipboard with that stuff! Be sure to head on over to Let's Scrap so you can check out the sketch posted and play along for your chance to win some goodies from this week's sponsor! I also have the question of the week posted there and my girlies are rockin' it with ideas of how to use your stash in new ways! I'd love to see you there too!

Happy Scrappin' to you!

Spring has Sprung!!

The birds are chripin', the sun is out... most of the time..... and the air has that wonderful smell of Spring around here. I just love this time of year when you can crack open a couple windows and air out the house, hang laundry out, and take care of doggies and kennel chores without freezin' your biscuits off!!! LOL!

I have never really been one to go out and capture Spring, KWIM? That is to go out and take pictures of nature awakening after a long winter's nap. Well, my friend Bev from My Sketch World, put a challenge out there this month to do just that! capture those nature photos and scrap em'..... no people allowed. I searched high and low throughout all my pictures and I had a few on hand, but they weren't the greatest, so I headed outside. Low and behold the tigers are coming!!! Tiger lilies that is! I love these pretty orange flowers and I always know Spring is here when they start popping their little sprouts out of the ground. So with camera in hand I took some pictures of them to fulfill this challenge.

Bloom

This is the first LO I have ever created without people in it!! I am really pleased with how it turned out and have been eyeballing everything now!!! LOL!!
The patterned papers I used are from Colorbok and K&Co.

I really wanted a bird on here to further push the whole Spring theme, but couldn't quite figure out how I was going to do this until I had the idea of creating a branch with my twine for it to sit on. I just had a bit too much open space before that for my liking.

The flowers are from Sassafras Lass and replace the ones already placed on the patterned paper. The letters are Maya Road; I inked them and then mixed up my own glitter glue to paint on.

I have had these tags in my stash FOREVER!!! I finally used them by grunging them up a bit with inks and adding a little pearl. The journaling tag is from Sassafras Lass.

I love these new butterflies Maya Road came out with, don't you?? They are so cute and I adore I can do them up anyway I please. This one was already colored like this from being used as a mask when misting a different project, so all I had to do was add some Alene's paper glaze and pearls.

Have a lovely day and may God bless you with a little taste of Spring today!! He sure is for me.... it's almost 70 degrees out there!!! Time to get off the 'puter and get outside! Happy Scrappin'!

By Style: In each issue of Scrapbook News and Review Magazine, we spotlight scrapbook pages by style and genre. We’re currently looking for pages, either in traditional or digital format, that feature a clearly defined style such as Clean and Simple, Dark and Industrial, Eclectic and Freestyle, Romance and Pretty Chic, Whimsical or Fantasy, and others just ripe for the picking. Please submit at least three to five layouts that you feel best represents your work and explain in a few brief sentences what style you feel best describes your work.

Father’s Day: Whether in classic masculine colors or something a little out of the ordinary, we’re looking for pages that feature a story or a moment or give credit to the man in our life, whether he be your father or someone who happily took on the role.

Flip It – Boy and Girl Pages: Who says girl pages have to be pink and frilly and boy pages have to be boy and rough and tumble? Let’s shake up the scrapbooking world by flipping it all around. Can you get away with pink with lots of flowers on a boy pages? What about a girl page with snips and snails and puppy dog tails? Come show us how you break all the rules!

Funny Family Photos: We all have them. Crazy faces, twisted positions, bunny rabbit ears behind a head or two. The question is, what do you do with them? Let’s see how you get your silly on.

Punctuation: Sometimes it can be just the perfect thing to punch up your pages. Show us how you use them, embellish them, and feature them on your projects.

Wedding: Whether modern or fifty years in the making, we’d love to see your wedding layouts. But let’s put a spin on it. Forget kissing the bride and walking down the aisle, let’s see pages that showcase the other special moments of your wedding or reception.

Please submit electronically by May 1, 2010 here.

Cards and Stamping

Father’s Day: It’s coming and we’re looking for fantastic card ideas. Come us show us the cards you’ve made for your father, grandfather or husband.

Vintage Spring: Nature isn’t always about being outdoors, but sometimes it’s nice to bring the outdoors inside and onto our cards. If you have cards featuring butterflies, birds, trees and straight from nature items such as sticks, dried flowers, rocks, leaves, etc., then let us take a looksee.

Asian Fonts or Character Writing: Asian fonts and characters can be beautiful and inspiring. How have you used these graceful lines in your card making?

Childhood Fun: Birthdays, parties, puppet shows and more. We want to see childlike fun in your cards. They can be for any event. Our main goal is to showcase fun and childlike themes.

Asian Tea Party: How would you decorate for an Asian themed tea party? Such items can include invitations, thank you cards, party favors, center pieces, decorations, name cards, menus and more. Let your imagination run wild and set the scene as little or as much as you like!

FaithFull: How moving it is to see cards full of faith and the glory of God. Faith filled cards can be of any topic but should include scripture and/or religious imagery.

Please submit electronically by May 1, 2010 here.

Stamping

Please Note: Stamping projects can include anything you stamp on, such as cards, ATCs, inchies, arches, collage, mixed media or whatever fires your imagination.

Cherry and Peach Blossoms: Nothing screams spring than delightful cherry and peach blossoms, which is why we’re honoring them this month.

Dragons: Full of good luck, fortune and wisdom, the dragon is our favorite winged reptile, and we’re looking for projects of any variety that feature dragons, small or big, meek or mighty.

Brush Markers: There is a variety of brush markers available and even more techniques to do with them. What are you favorite ways to show them off?

Gold Foil: Let’s add a little regal shimmer to our projects. Don’t be shy, give it a try. It’s luxury to be shared.

Please submit electronically by May 1, 2010 here.

Artist Trading Cards

Tea: This month, tea themed ATCs are the center of attention. Think of the possibilities! Tea, tea bags, tea cups, tea parties, tea garden, teapots, afternoon tea, The Mad Hatter’s tea party, The Boston Tea Party, teaspoons. It’s all at your fingertips just waiting for you to create with.

Please submit electronically by May 1, 2010 here.

Digital

Family Tree: Digital scrapbooking can make documenting family lineage and heritage a snap. We would love to see your ideas for documenting your roots.

Hybrid: Are you a little bit digi and a little bit paper and glue? Hybrid is a fabulous way for traditional scrapbookers to try digital scrapbooking and for digital scrapbookers to use up their traditional scrapbooking stash.

Spectacular Shadow Work: Shadows can make or break a digital layout. Not enough and the page looks flat, too much and your elements are floating off the page. Let’s see your shadowing skills. Show us how you achieve a realistic look, whether it’s warping the shadow for a ribbon or getting just the right settings for your elements. We want to be left guessing: is it traditional or is it digi?

Using Realistic Nature Items: One advantage of digital scrapbooking is that you can use items you wouldn’t normally use on paper layouts, particularly natural items such as leaves, sticks, rock and dirt. There are no worries about bulk, weight or acid and lignin-free when it’s just pixels. How do you throw realistic nature items into the mix?

Please submit electronically by May 1, 2010 here.

Digital Three for All: Send us a group of three photos and our digital staff will create fabulous digital layouts starring your photos. The photos must be digital or scanned and not violate any copyrights. Please add a short description about the photos such as event(s), date(s), place(s), etc. We’ll use this information on our layouts to tell us your unique story!

Please submit electronically by May 1, 2010 here.

Special

Copic Markers: This month, we’ll focus on how to create texture while using Copic markers, including their blending pen.

Please submit electronically by May 1, 2010 here.

Child of the... 60's: Were you a child of the 60’s? Or do you have family members that were a part of the sixties? Child of the . . . is a new series that each month will focus on a different decade and showcase what it was like to be a child, teen or adult of each time period.

Please submit electronically by May 1, 2010 here.

Special Needs, Special Children: Parents, grandparents or anyone impacted by a child with special needs knows how important and therapeutic scrapbooking can be in learning to cope with life, and sometimes the differences that exist with your special child. This quarterly column will center on our special children and how we, as loved ones, use scrapbooking to aid, cope and so much more.

Please submit electronically by May 1, 2010 here.

My first ever sketch!!!

I had the pleasure of creating my first ever scrap for A Walk Down Memory Lane's DT blog this past Friday. Well, I guess I shouldn't say that it was full on pleasure... I don't have any of those fancy programs you can create them in, searched for hours on end to try and find something free on the internet to use that would work with a Mac, and then resorted to creating it in my Word document program. Not as many option there as I would have liked to had, but I guess I probably wouldn't have known how to create some gloriously detailed sketch my first time out using something jazzy either!!! LOL!

Anyhoo, I am really happy with the card sketch I created and feel it was one more thing I accomplished in my scrappy adventures.

To see the sketch I created I am going to ask that you pop on over to the AWDML DT blog. It is posted there as a download.

Here is the card I made for the sample:

Sew, sew, sew....

I am really getting a ton of use out of the Cosmo Cricket Material Girl line papers I have! I have made 'sew' many cute cards out it as well as a few LOs!

Here's a close up:

Those Tiny Type alphas are quickly becoming a fav of mine too!!! Love that they come with little words at the bottom! All these products can be found in the A Walk Down Memory Lane store. be sure to head on over to the DT blog so you can try out my sketch and link it up on the blog, as well as the gallery for your chance at winning some April goodies!

Thanks so much for stopping by! Happy Scrappin' and God Bless!

New Sketch

Hi Everyone!! I am a little late in sharing this with you, but there is still plenty of time for you to check out the new sketch up at Let's Scrap! This week's sponsor is Memorable Seasons and they are offering up $25.00 to shop with!! WooHOO!! Gotta love when you can pick out your own goodies!

I had a lot of fun working with the right hand side of the sketch. The square grid was so appealing to me!!

Carefree

DD and I had a blast last weekend doing a mini photo shoot outside!! I wanted to take some time and capture her, as she is just growing up too fast! Where does the time go? I just love this picture of her and the first word that came to my mind was Carefree, so I had to title it that!!
I love how the burlap really added a lot of texture to this LO, but wanted to fem it up a bit so I added the eyelet lace.

Here are some close ups:

I used Maya Road chipboard alphas for the title. Blotted them with alcohol inks and sanded a bit to rough them up.

The ticket is from Tim Holtz and to create the burlap flowers I just stamped right on it. Then added a bit of glitter to make them a bit more girly. This picture also shows how I added some mesh behind the photo to again add a bit of texture and visual interest.

The flowers are from Maya Road and covered with some home made glimmer mists. I actually used them as a mask for another project and had them at my disposable as a bellie. I love how the pearls turned out for the swirls and will surely do this again. To alter the burlap a bit, I painted some gesso onto it, then blotted with a couple colors of alcohol inks, and painted on a thin layer of home made glimmer mist, although that doesn't show up to well in the photo.

I have been looking for lots of ways to recycle packaging these days and get the most out of my products while cutting down on waste. The little bingo card is from Jenni Bowlin's packaging.

Thanks for stopping by today! I hope you head on over to Let's Scrap and check out all the other fabulous creations made by the DT there, as well as give the sketch a try!

A Walk down Memory Lane Product Review

Hi Everyone!! Happy Saturday!
I have been blessed with the ability to play with many products from the A Walk Down Memory Lane store, but I must say that I am enjoying the Maya Road products the most at this point. I posted a product review on the DT blog this week and wanted to share the creation I made.

I have been wanting to create my own Welcome banner for our house door, but nothing floated my boat until I saw the Maya Road chipboard banner pieces.

Here's what I made for our door:

This project was so quick and easy to make!!! I like the simplicity and the country feel I was able to get by using some Cosmo Cricket Garden Variety papers from the mini deck.

Be sure to head on over to the DT blog where you can see all the details of this review as well as a review of the acrylic banner stamp banners!

I am just so in love with all things Sass.. Sassafras Lass that is!!! These papers are from the new Cherry Delicious line mini deck!!! LOVE it!

Tag Out:

Yesterday passed without me being able to post my reveal for Let's Scrap and again I am rockin' out with the Sassafras Lass!!!!
