I'm a Guest Twisted Sister!!!

How fun is that?? I love visiting the Twisted Sketches blog! Anam always has such wonderful sketches and the twists are what make it really fun. She throws in some supply or element you must use on your page. This week's sketch was super fun to work with and the twist this week is stripes! I had to think about that one because I am more of a polka dot girl!! LOL!

Here's my LO:

Dream

This photo was taken while I was on a fieldtrip with one of my kindergarten classes a few years back. I loved getting right into the mix of things with my students and the other class' teacher took this picture of me wearing these cool Monarch wings. I was flying around the space just before that!! LOL!

Some close ups:

I used October Afternoon and Cosmo Cricket patterned papers, along with some embellishments, tags, and ribbons. I also used K&Co borders, Prima bling, and Recollections pearls.

I just loved this quote when I found it. The letters I used for it are from American Crafts.
Thanks for stopping by!!

Scrapdango Crowned Contest

I am soo happy to say I am still participating in the crowned contest at Scrapdango!! I wasn't sure if I would get this past weeks LO done in time, but I was able to squeak it in.....bad picture and all! LOL!! I hate when I have to do that..... so need better lighting!!

Week 3 Entry - The challenge for this week was to scrap about your own childhood, use a color palette that was posted in the thread and journal in your handwriting at least 100 words!

Pals

This is a favorite picture of me..... minus the fro-tastic hair do!!!! LOL! It's of me and my buddy Bandit. I raised up this little guy for a summer before we took him to a preserve for release. It was soo much fun caring for him and he even would play hide and go seek!

Here's a few close ups:

I used MM papers and clear embellishments, Anna Griffin stamp, Jillibean journal sprout, BoBunny raccoon, Martha Stewart border punch and library pocket, EK Success border punch, The Paper Studio ribbon, along with some Thickers, a Jenni Bowlin tag, and a Maya Road stick pin!

Here's the journaling card:

There is more on the back but the photo I kept getting was awful!!

can't wait to see who will be crowned as we head into this last week of competition!

365 Cards - Day 355

I wasn't able to get all the sketches done this week at 365 Cards..... yet!!! I will for sure be putting them to good use still!

Here is the last one I got done this week:

Grazie:

This is the first I have used of this Anna Griffin paper and stamp, even though I have had it for quite a while!! This will be for my FIL who is Italian.... did ya' guess?? LOL!

MSW Sketch-A-Thon LO

Well, all the sketches are posted at My Sketch World and now it's time to kick the scrapping into gear!!! I have only made it through 5 sketches so far and I have 15 more to go!! That is if I only want to do one round...... there is also the option to do all the sketches a 2nd time creating a LO with a card sketch and vice versa!! That would total 40 projects by March 3 when everything has to be uploaded!

Here is what I came up with for the LO sketch #5

Life's a Journey:

I just love how this LO turned out! It is going to be hung up somewhere around here. I used all Graphic 45 patterned papers.

Here's a couple close ups:

The letters I used are from Jillibean Soup and October Afternoon. The lace and ribbon are The Paper Studio.

The stick pin is MM and the card is from October Afternoon. I inked it up with Walnut ink to age it and then crumpled it up. The pearls are Recollections and the buttons are from Basic Grey. There is still plenty of time for you to join us over at the Sketch-A-Thon so be sure you get on over to MSW and play along!!!

365 Cards - Day 352

This past week at 365 cards was sketch week!! All the designers came up with super sketches and examples to go with them. I am still working my way through them all!! Being sick sure does get in the way of scrappin'!!! LOL!

Here's what I came up with for Gloria's sketch:

Create, Enjoy, Laugh

I am soo ready for spring and just had to use these yummy spring feeling colors!!

Close Up:

The patterned papers and ribbon are from MM. The bird and the buttons are K&Co.
Thanks for a great sketch Gloria!! :0)

Yep, a full month of fun challenges all geared around the fab 80's!!! There will be lots of fun happenings and prizes. Plus, it is A Walk Down Memory Lane's 7th Anniversary so there is sure to be some added excitement with that!
So be sure to join us beginning March 1st for the:

You should also be sure to stop by the AWDML store, so you can take advantage of the 25% discount being offered on this month's featured manufacturers - Hero Arts and Fancy Pants. I just love both companies and had a lot of fun working with some love themed stamps from Hero Arts. I have loaded up oodles of projects to the gallery. Here are a few of my creations that can be found there.

Valentine Treat Bag

I made this for DH using scraps of Fancy Pants papers I had, Hero Arts stamps, and my Martha Stewart border punch. The clip is from MM and the tag and rick rack were in my stash.

{Hoo} Loves U - Love Tin coupon holder

Isn't this just the cutest little thing??! This was another valentine's Day present my DH received. I used an altoid tin from the store, cut the heart from a scrap of Fancy Pants, used scraps of Dream Street, and the little owl is a Hero Arts stamp I cut out.

Cards in tin:

Fronts of cards:

The fronts of the cards share some of the reasons I love my DH. I used Dream Street papers, Maya Road sheer journaling tags, and Little Yellow Bicycle stickers.

Backs of Cards:

The backs of the cards give my DH coupons for fun things like a back run, ice cream, relaxing bubble bath, etc.

He adored his little tin, more than I thought!!! He just kept looking at it saying this is just the cutest little thing! He hasn't cashed in on any of the coupons just yet though!

10 Things I Love About You

This was DS's Valentine from me. I actually took off the backing and turned it into a wall hanging for his bulletin board in his room.

I have a few more little cards to share, but I will come back a bit later with those! Hope you all are having wonderful Saturdays.

Happy Birthday to my Peanut!!!!

It's a HAPPY day around my house today, well kinda, my DD, Whitney, turns 10 today!!! Happy for her, tough for me. I just can't believe double digits came soo quickly for her!! The official time being 2:46 P.M. We had to celebrate yesterday since DH has to work late tonight out of town. Thank goodness the hospital released me for this!! We had her brand new bike and card all set up for her arrival home yesterday after school!

Here are some pictures of her finding her surprise:

A look of shocked surprise.... she truly had no idea this was coming, especially with me being sick.

Her, "Aaaawww, you guys!!!" look.

Great big hugs for Daddy!!!! He did good! :0)

Reading her birthday card I quickly put together in 20 minutes before she got home!!! Yikes, that was pushin' it!!! Thank goodness for fab sketches and the fact I was thinking about the card I wanted to make the entire time I was getting my last IV!!! LOL!

The soon to be birthday girl with her new bike!!!

She absolutely loves it and took it out for a spin before we went to Culver's for dinner.

Here's a picture of the card I made for DD. I created it using 365 Cards Day 351 - Super Sketchy Sunday! the sketch is yummy and if you like sketches you should head on over there this week. All teh designers are posting sketches for the challenges!! There is also a DT call going on there too!

My DD LOVES dimensional flowers and was soo excited to see this one on her card!! She said, "Gasp.... Mama, you made me a rose! I've been wanting one of those!" Well, I guess you could call this a type of rose like flower!!! LOL! I'm just super happy she loved her card.... this is one of her favorite lines since she loves animals!

I also let another Happy card pass since I was out of commission completely yesterday. Let's Scrap has a new card sketch up for your inspiration!! Kimmy does such a great job creating unique and fun sketches!! This one is no exception. Here's the happy February card I created.... see I told you it was a happy day!!

Happy

I used October Afternoon papers and bellies, along with Foof-a-La and Jenni Bowlin buttons, and AdornIt letters.

Different Angle:

Hope you head on over to Let's Scrap!! There is a fantastic sponsor with an even yummier prize pack awaiting you there!

Twisted Sketch #36

I have been feeling really bleck again, so I haven't been on the computer much. In fact I haven't been able to get out of bed much, but when I do I venture to my scrappy space since that's my happy place! I haven't been able to get one of the sketches done at Twisted Sketches for awhile, but when I saw this week's, it didn't go into the for a later time pile.... it was the here and now! The sketch was just too fun to pass up and so was the twist!

How Sweet

The twist this week was to use pens, markers, and or pencils any way. I doodled around the border of the LO and then I used my Sakura glaze pens to create faux stitching around some of the circles. The paper already had this type of pattern, I just popped it out with black. I also used my white pen to outline the arrow saying Picture Perfect!!

Here's a couple close ups that help show the amazing capabilities of the glaze pens! I love the effect they give!!

I'll be back tomorrow with a Let's Scrap card reveal and a fun creation + BIG news from A Walk Down Memory Lane!!! Until then Happy Scrappin'!

Sketch-A-Thon Happenings

The February Sketch-A-Thon at My Sketch World is going strong!! It is amazing to see all the different creations being made using the same sketches. More than half the sketches are posted and we still have 9 more to go!!! WOW! I must say Lucy is doing an outstanding job coming up with a variety of sketches! You have until the 3rd of March to participate, so don't hesitate to get on over there and start printing out sketches!!

I have been able to get through a total of 3 so far. I already posted my LO for sketch 1. Sketch 2 was a card sketch.

My card: Love Nest

I just love this fun line of paper from My Mind's Eye!!! The colors are fab and the birdies are just soo cute!!

Close Up:

I used a Prima flower, button from Foof-a-la, ribbon from MM, and the chipboard hearts are from Basic Grey covered with Martha Stewart glitter.

Sketch #3 is a LO sketch!! I am LOVIN' all the circles Lucy is using!

My LO: 1st Chick

Hehe!!! I am soo glad my DS has such an awesome sense of humor, he cracked up when he saw this title!!! I used a mix of BG papers and I'm not sure where the circle die is from.

Here's some close ups:

I love that little recipe card from October Afternoon! It worked perfectly for this country LO!

The butterflies are from K&Co. and I cut the trees from Bella Blvd. paper. The tall flower is from Basic Grey, so is teh border sticker down the side of the picture. The lower border is K&Co.

I really love the country feel I was able to get for this LO and the softness there is for a boy's page, yet I don't feel like it is too frilly!

Hope to see you at MSW!!

Its that time again.... a new sketch just went up on Let's Scrap and it's another good one! Cheri has really been rockin' the sketches over there lately!! Fabulous 2 pagers that can easily be done as 1 pagers for those of use that prefer to scrap that way! I really do love 2 pagers, I just never have enough photos that are great of the same event! LOL!

I had a lot of fun with this sketch and wound up being able to make DH a Valentine present in the process!

Blip, Bleep, Wwhhiiirrrrr!

This is DH and I during the summer. We rarely get pictures together and I made him take this one while the kids were swimming. I just love having my picture with him!!

Close Up Shots:

To create the swirled mat for my photo I used grunge board, colored it with reinker, then added some Perfect Pearls, finally sanding away some of the Pearls for the red and pattern to shoe through.

A Walk Down Memory Lane

One of this month's featured manufacturers at A Walk Down Memory Lane is Fancy Pants. I just love their stuff and you have to check out the DT blog as well as the gallery to see what the new DT has done with all their great products. Here are a few boy LOs I created featuring the Rough and Tough line:

Just Plane Cute

Right Now

On a Jet Plane

You can find the Fancy pants papers I used for these LOs in the AWDML store. The store also has a number of other products I used on these LOs as well, such as Thickers, Basic Grey chipboard pieces, fancy pants chipboard pieces, and more! Be sure to head on over to get your 25% off Fancy Pants and Hero Arts. I will be showcasing some projects using their stamps later in the month!

Scrapdango Crowned Contest - Week 1

WooHoo, I finally made it over and actually participated in one of Scrapdango's fun contests! Week 1 was the evening gown competition. There was a yummy recipe posted and I just couldn't resist especially since my girl Lisa from MSW was hosting it right along with Heather!

Here's what I came up with:

I used Basic Grey adn October Afternoon papers. The flowers are made out of fabric, which was a requirement. I also used rhinestones and pearls..... both requirements. Along with ink for the edges and 3D dots. It will be exciting to see who gets sashed!

Some Close Up Shots:

The minute I ran across this picture, this idea popped into my head. I really want the photo to be focused on my DD, but there was no good way to crop the picture. This idea worked out perfectly!

These are the first flowers I have ever made out of fabric!! I soo love what people can do with fabric, but haven't really found my nitch in it just yet!!! A big thanks to Kristie over at Let's Scrap for the super tutorial on how to make these cutie lil' flowers!! You can find it in the forum under tricks and tips!

I glittered up the crown before I added the rhinestones, but its hard to tell. Loved this challenge!!

Let's Scrap Challenge RAK

Here is the full RAK I have put together..... I should say this is the majority of what will be given. I am going to add a few things here and there to beef up the bellies!! That will be a lovely surprise for the winner!! :0)

Thank you Tammy for the Award!!!

I have been soo thrilled to see people coming over to my blog and getting excited about the challenge I have posted this week. So thrilled that I am contemplating doing this more often or starting another blog specifically for challenges, but I am getting side tracked!!! LOL! So as I was readig through comments and marking people's names down, I ran across Tammy's. She's a digi scrapper and you should click on her name to check out her way amazing work!! She wrote:

Girl your work is totally AWESOME!!! I love your work!

Go to my blog and receive your reward!

How sweet is that?? Thanks so much Tammy and all my other friends out there in blog land for leaving me soo much love. During this time while I am medical leave and just not feeling the greatest day in and day out, it is so nice to come here and receive some lovin' for what brings me joy and peace at the moment..... beyond my family!

Here's the award she gave me:

Isn't it cute??

The rules of this award are to tell you 10 things that make me happy and then I am to pass it on to 5 more people.

Here are my 10 things:
1. Being a child of God
2. Having my best friend and soul mate for a husband
3. Spending time with my 2 kiddos that are not such 'kiddos' anymore
4. Loving and playing with my other main man, Fonzz.... he's my doggie!
5. SCRAPPIN'!!!!
6. Going for hikes on trails through the woods
7. Soaking up the sunshine in summer
8. My friends and extended family
9. Working in an inner city school in Milwaukee
10. Knowing that God has a plan for me and my life and it's up to me to discover!

Here are the 5 lovely friends I would like to pass this on too. My reasoning behind this is because these gals have really helped me along my internet scrappy journey. From resizing photos, to creating a pretty blog, they have been there for me and they make me HAPPY! I am soo blessed to be able to call each and every one of them a friend. I have only met one in real life, but I sure do hope that changes. So without further ado, I would love for you to visit my friends (in no particular order!! LOL!):

Cheryl
Nicole
Lucy
Sue
Suzann

Girls you all have so inspired me and been such great friends through good times and not so good. I love each and every one of you! Thanks for brightening my days!!

Detail Photos

I cut the heart out of Tim Holtz grunge board, then painted it with some glossy medium paint I mixed up, then added Pearl X, and finally sanded some of the Pearl X away. The cherries are sprayed with Psst! Shimmer Spray by Tsukineko. It is a new product and it is YUMMY!!! To see other projects I created with this you can visit SNR magazine Here. The article is on the front page and you can see the projects and even classes in the forum!

I picked up the doiley in a set this weekend at the dollar store!! What a super find!
