365 Cards - Day 333

Day 333 - The 3Gs - Green, Glitter, and Grosgrain
Ok, so I will admit I had to look up Grosgrain because I had no good clue what it was. You learn something new everyday. For those of you out there like me who may not know what Grosgrain is.... go look it up!...... Just Kidding!!! LOL! It is a type of ribbed ribbon. It tends to be stiffer and the ribs are very apparent to see.

Here's my card:

Sorry for such a dark photo, but until I can get a fantabulous light for space this as good as it gets at night! I am pretty sure the ribbon I used would qualify as a grosgrain since you can see the ribs on it and was stiffer. The green paper is glittered and made by DCWV, so is the blue and the yellow quote. The house is from Fancy Pants and the ribbon was in my stash.

It's a Birthday Party!!!

365 Cards - Day 332

Day 332 - The 3 Rs - Ribbon, Red, & Rick Rack

Love

My goodies arrived today from A Walk Down Memory Lane and I just had to bust into them right away!! the store is loaded with goodness so make sure you hop on over. The patterned papers I used are from DreamStreet and they are located in the store. Add a little rick rack, some lace, and a stamped transparency and voila! One Valentine ready to go!

365 Cards - Day 330

Day 330 Super Sketchy Sunday

The sketch this week was another cool one. I rotated it a bit and made this card from my score of goods at a rummage.

Grow

A card for many challenges

This card was created using the Jan 1. (just a little behind here!! LOL!) sketch at MSW created by Lucy and fulfills challenges for 365 Cards and A Walk Down Memory Lane. Day 331 at 365 Cards was the 3 Ps - Pink, Paisley, and Princess. For A Walk Down Memory Lane, my friend Nicole posted some beautiful projects on teh DT blog using her white pen. Her challenge was to do the same..... bust out the white pen! So I did! It really added to this card and gave it a finished look.

100% Natural:

Thanks for taking a peek! I used K&Co. papers and embellies. I am not sure where the word Princess came from... maybe K&Co. too, but I'm not sure on that one!

Let's Scrap Reveal

Well, I told you I'd be back today and I am soo glad I am! It's Wednesday and that means a new delightful sketch is posted at Let's Scrap! It's a double pager, but you can easily do one side if you prefer that style, like I do.

You are my son shine:

This is my DS when he was a baby. Not so much of a baby anymore at 13, but glad I waited to scrap this one! Brings back such fun memories and I LOVE seeing those chubby cheeks! :0)

The Nutmeg line from Cosmo Cricket worked perfectly with this Basic Grey I had. I love the whimsical warm feeling it created on my page.

Close Up of Title:

I created this title myself using naked chipboard. I will be providing a tutorial for how to do this yourself soon so stay tuned for that!

One more close up:

The clouds and flower are from Me and My Big Ideas, the ribbon is CC and MM. All other bellies are CC.

Thanks for taking a peek at my latest creation! maybe I'll be back today with a few cards. In the meantime, head on over to Let's Scrap to check out the new sketch and the sponsor for the week! This is the last week for the current DT there and I just want to say how much fun it was working with all the lovely ladies there! Looking forward to kickin' it off with the new DT next week!

What's Been Up?!?

It's been awhile since I updated everyone on what's been going on in my scrappy world. First some insight into my non-scrappy world to put things in some perspective. As you may have noticed, I added a banner to my blog saying I Dream of a Cure Lupus Awareness. I am a lupus patient and struggle with this daily. Lately, however there has been other medical issues plaguing me and we can't seem to figure out what in the heck is going on. I have a lot of pain in my spine and killer headaches all the time! I finally am on a pain med tat seems to help, but I feel a bit goofy on it..... I don't do pain meds well at all! So, anyhoo.... long story short, I have been pretty ill and am just trying to make it through each day with prayer, a positive attitude, and wonderful family and friends!

Now, onto my scrappy world news!! I have lots and just am blessed to be blowing all this gas at once!!! So, please don't mind if I toot a bit before I share what I have been creating! I'll start with my most recent news and work back.....

I just found out this past week that I made the DT for A Walk Down Memory Lane!!!! Aaaahhhh! How exciting is that??! I was on pins and needles, as it took an extra day for the announcement. Lisa, the owner of the store, was getting her and her family ready to head for CHA, so understandable, but nerve wracking!!!! LOL!! I am soo excited and just can't wait to find out more details and get more active over there! Heck, I need to figure out how to get a blinkie and my picture on the forum!!

My first big project for Scrapbook News and Review magazine was just completed, so be on the lookout for a blog post of when that's available!! :0)

I am pleased to announce I will be returning to My Sketch World as a designer!! WaHoo!! I love my gurls there.... it is one big family! This time around I will be designing cards so that should be fun since they seem to be my latest scrappy obsession! Again, this is another site I have to update a blinkie from!! You should go and check out the new look if you haven't seen it yet!

Just a couple more....promise, ..... hang in there with me! ;0)

Let's Scrap has welcomed me back as a contributing DT member!! This is the first scrappy community I became a part of and I love it! All the gals there are super and so are the sketches! I am thankful to Cheri and the core team for their understanding of my illness and the constraints it can out on me at times. Being able to do what I can when I can will make it soo much easier to stay active there!! :0)

February will prove to be such a fun month of new beginnings for me.... throw in a GDT spot at The Little Shabby Box and Twisted Sketches and I am one happy scrapper!

Thanks for letting me toot!!

Now on to some scrappy goodness........

i have been extremely busy when my health has allowed craftin' away. Some projects are top secret and I'd have to kill you is I shared!!! LOL! But here are a couple of things to get me back in the swing of sharing!

Baby Love

This is my friend's baby girl.... isn't she a cutie pie! This line from BoBunny was perfect for this!

Close Up:

I can't wait to give this to her this week!

And here's a card:

I love this line from Cosmo Cricket so I couldn't resist picking it up from my LSS that is moving soon! Gotta love clearance!! I must get to her store before she is out at the end of the week!!

Close Up:

The buttons are from Foof-a-laa and the pearls are Queen Ann & Co.

I'll be back tomorrow with my last reveal for my first term at Let's Scrap.... it should be a cool one.... need to go finish! ;0)

365 Cards - Day 321

Day 321 - In stitches

You had to stitch around an image for this challenge.

U Make My Heart Flutter:

A bit closer:

Thanks for this challenge.... I really avoid stitching at all costs.... in fact DH won't even let me near the sewing machine!! He handles all those needs around here!! LOL!

365 Cards - Day 317

Day 317 - Crazy Eight - use 8 different colors on your card..... shades of same color do not count

I think I got this one all set, I did have to count twice tho'! LOL!!!

Bananas Over You:

I used the colors: Red, Green, Blue, Pink (the dots on the heart patterned paper are pink.... I know cuttin' it close there....), Brown, Tan, Black, and White

Here's a close up:

365 Cards - Day 318

Day 318 - Home Sweet Home: create a card with a house on it

I was stumped by this one for a moment since my head is totally on love mode! But then it came to me..... I remembered I had some great Bella Blvd. scraps left and they would work perfectly!

Here's my card:

Home is Where the Heart Is....

Supplies: Bazzilll cardstock; Bella Blvd. patterned papers, trees from Fancy Pants kraft cuts

Here's a close up of the house stamped image:

Ok, I am soo proud of myself on this one!! I finally used my Pearl X in a way I could actually put it on a project instead of in the garbage!! LOL! The house stamp is from Stampology.

Let's Scrap Reveal

It's Wednesday so that means a new sketch is up at Let's Scrap along with a new fantabulous sponsor for all those who play along this week! The sketch is a 2 pager, but Cheri is doing awesome things with her sketches these days and you can easily do 1 pagers off of either side! I LOVE that!

You'll have to pop over to Let's Scrap to see the sketch and the wonderful prize up for grabs, but here is my 1 pager take on it:

This is DD and her cousin hangin' out in the corn fields this past summer, just be as silly as they could be!!! I love the innocence and fun of 2 little girls playing!

Some close ups:

I used all BG - Lime Rickey papers for this.

All th eletter stickers and the little & sign are from American Crafts, the buttons are from BG, and the Smile-O-Meter is K&Co.

Thanks for lookin'..... hope to see your LO there soon!

Sandi's Challenge

Sandi's challenge at MSW was to use a photo of an empty stocking and use non-traditional Christmas colors for the LO. Well, she actually stated it this way.... you can use red, but then there could be no green.

Feed Me

I just love my DHs stocking!! This was a fun LO to create! I used papers from Graphic45, Jenni Bowlin, Basic Grey, and Cosmo Cricket.

Here are a couple close ups:

The stockings and arrow sticker are from CC, I made the circles by punching them out from the BG paper. The letters are AdornIt and the buttons are from Foof-a-Laa, BG, and my stash!

I used a pattern I made for the journaling spot and cut it out from some Jenni Bowlin' mini papers, then I added some Walnut ink to age it bit and give it a fun feel.

Wendi's Challenge

Wendi has a super yummy recipe challenge posted for the Holiday Rewind Crop at MSW!!

The ingredients are:

Use blue
Use an ink color other than black or brown
Use snowflake(s)
Use something sparkly
Use photo of snow

I have a feeling I may be missing something on the list so you should just go and check out the MSW crop!!!

Here's what I came up with:

I just love these pictures I captured of DS while playing on our snow day this year!! They were perfect to do a sequence of him creating a snowball!

The papers I used are from My Mind's Eye, Imaginesce, and Cosmo Cricket.

Here's a close up:

The letters I used are Thickers and AdornIt. The snowflake brads are from MM and the flourish is Cosmo Cricket. I made the journaling spot with a Stampology stamp and made it blue by mixing some Pearl X with a glossy medium and painted it on there!

Holiday Rewind Crop LOs

The Holiday Rewind Crop at My Sketch World is in full effect!! I think there are 19 or 20 challenegs total and they are all ROCKIN'. I have yet to get the blinkie here, but hopefully it will come soon..... most of you out there know I struggle with those types of things and it takes me a bit to get it to actually work!! LOL!

Kim's challenge was to use an aftermath photo and to use some non-scrappy paper.

This is my LO I created for the challenge. My non-scrappy paper is some wrapping paper snibbles I glued onto the photo! Since I am waiting for DH to build me a shelf to hold my 12x12 albums in, I have been playing with 8.5x11s.... I am liking them and will add them to what I do, but I still love loading up a 12x12!!!

Here a few close ups:

I used a variety of papers for this project from MM, American Crafts, Imaginesce, and the scalloped paper is unknown. the quote is from Cosmo Cricket.

The pom pom ribbon I used is from recollections and my letter stickers are from Bella Blvd., Jenni Bowlin, and AdornIt - Carolee's Creations.

Day 309 was Super Sketchy Sunday

Here's my take on the sketch:

365 Cards - Day 305.... just a bit late!

Even though this is being posted late..... I really like what I came up with for this challenge! Again it stretched me out of my comfort zone!!!

Day 305 - Divide and Conquer - The idea was to create 4 equal quadrants on your card.... but of course there was a catch. Each quadrant had to contain a certain thing. The requirements were: 1 stamped sentiment, 1 punched item, 1 floral bellie, and 1 rhinestone..... and you couldn't overlap anything!

Here's my card:

My 1st Completed Challenge!!

Lots of things seem to be interrupting scrapping these days, but I pray the good Lord will bring relief soon and things can get back to normal... or at least our family's version of it!! LOL!!

So I was happy when I was finally able to sneak some scrappy time in and complete one of the MSW Holiday Rewind Crop Challenges. I was able to get to Wendi's Let It Snow LO. Her recipe called for using a picture of snow.... I have oodles of these from our numerous snowy days here!.....to use blue on your page, ink other than black and brown (oooooo, tough one!), use a snowflake, use something sparkly, and use a quote.

Here is what I came up with:

I used oodles of blue on this LO, my inks were white and blue, I used snowflake brads, the letters, snowflakes, and journaling spot are sparkly, and I used a quote from Cosmo Cricket.

My patterned papers are from My Mind's Eye, Cosmo Cricket, and Imaginesce. te letters are Thickers and AdornIt, and the ribbon and brads are from MM.

It's Crop Time!!!!

At MSW!!!! WaHoo!!

The Holiday Rewind Crop has just started and it is going to be a blast!!! Lots of great challenges posted already and more to come tomorrow. The crop will last all month long, so hop on over and check it out!

Today was my day to post a challenge. I went with a Make-A-Scene challenge. The idea is to create a scene, incorporating your pictures, using different elements on your page.

Here is my example:

I created my scene by using the blue snowflake paper for my sky, the brown for the ground, adding trees, a house, snowman, and some additional snowflakes. There you have my version of a winter wonderland!!

MSW - January 2 Reveal

I am soo happy Lucy took a wll deserved day off with her family yesterday and postponed putting out this sketch.... however it was very hard to wait an extra day for the reveal!!! LOL!!

Here is the spectacular sketch at MSW:

And here is my take on it:

The DT was able to play with some digital stamp images from The Cutting cafe' for this month! Lots of "sweet" stamps were sent to me and I loved playing with them! The papers I used for this LO are from Sass and the letters were bare naked Maya Road, which I covered with ink and then glitter from MS.

365 Cards - Day 302

Day 302 - Sketchy Sunday

Here's the sketch:

Super cool one, huh??

Here's my take:

I love the challenge Pam's sketches provide me.... I always have to think out of my card maker box!!! :0) Thanks for the inspiration Pam! :0)

365 Cards - Day 303

Happy New Year!!! Hope everyone has had or is having a wonderful celebration. DH, the kids, and I all made it til' midnight!!! A first around here.... my kids are getting big! DD did have to go up to her bed at 11:50 and just lay there until the new year tho'!! LOL! She yelled Happy New Year st 12:00 and then it was immediately quiet! ;0)

Day 303 - With a Flourish
So I rang in the new year watching my kids and DH play the Wii from my scrap table. Day 303 at 365 cards was all about the flourishes.... you had to use at least 3!!! I really struggled with trying to get 3 flourishes on this card..... I don't really do flourishes by themselves, let alone in 3's! But, I am pleased to say I accomplished this challenge and love the card I came up with!!!

Here is my card:

I also used a Tic Tac Toe challenge from Audrey at MSW to make this card. Her requirements were to have only cardstock, use at least 2 ribbons, and to emboss something. The white cardstock is embossed with little flowers, but it is hard to see in the photo.

I used cardstock from stash for this project.... the white is American Crafts.... The velvet ribbon is MM and the bow is from my stash.... the dress and sentiment stamp are from Inkadinkado, picked them up on clearance from Michael's!! Great deal! :0) The flourish stamp is from G Studio and the rhinestone is from my stash.
